Eligibility 

Candidates shall be admitted to the first year or the second year (lateral entry) of the diploma programme on fulfilling the eligibility conditions as follows.

I Year (Duration: 3years/ six semesters)

Passed tenth standard (X) / SSLC examination.

II Year through Lateral Entry

Passed 10+2 Examination with any of the following three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, ELECTRONICS, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practice, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship   (OR)  10^th+ 2 years of ITI

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Eligible candidates shall apply on the website www.tnpoly.in by filling the required information, uploading X mark sheet, photograph and Community certificate, and paying a sum of Rs. 150 (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty). The application fee is waived off for SC/ ST candidates.

2. The college admits both boys and girls.

3. The admission process in the college follows reservation policy prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

4. After the submission of the application on the website, eligible candidates will be ranked in accordance with their merit and community, and will be invited for counseling.

5. The branch will be allotted to the students in accordance with the rank of the candidate in the corresponding reservation quota and the availability of seats at the time of counseling.

MODE OF SELECTION

Regular Diploma Courses

Selection of eligible candidates for the courses in the Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions will be made based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination and the ranking will be done in the order of total marks secured by the candidates in the SSLC / Equivalent examination following communal reservation. In respect of candidates whose maximum marks in the qualifying examination more than 500 as per scheme, the maximum marks shall be reduced to a base of 500 and rank arrived at along with other candidates.

Sandwich Courses

For 50% seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the selection will be done based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination as for the regular courses following merit and communal reservation. For the remaining 50% seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the eligible candidates sponsored by the approved industries will be admitted. The list of industries which are participating in the In-plant Training etc., are alone eligible to sponsor candidates. Sandwich courses will extend for a period for 3 & 1/2 year (7 semesters). Candidates admitted to sandwich courses will attend the Institution study as well as In-plant Training in one of the connected industries.
